Introducing XR Hub team: Skeleton Conductor

During summer 2020, we have been posting articles about our XR Hub teams on a weekly basis. These articles are based on interview questions, answered by the teams themselves. This is your chance to get to know our talented community, team by team!

This time we will introduce to you the lovely trio Skeleton Conductor!

  1. What does your team do?

“Skeleton Conductor team is currently working on Skeleton Conductor XR Art experience. ”


  1. What is the idea or the “mission” behind your team?

“The main mission is to create meaningful exhilarating experiences that allow one to explore their creativity through musical and visual expression. Designing innovative open ended physical dramaturgy and sonification mappings in 6dof VR for exploring embodied creativity.”


  1. Tell us a little bit about your team members!

“Hanna Pajala-Assefa creative director and cross-media choreographer, Daniel Leggat is a wizard of interactivity design and coding in Unity and Janne Storm, musician and XR sound designer working on interactive computing and spatial sound with Fmod software.”


  1. What project(s) are you currently working on?

“Finalising the full body movement based Skeleton Conductor XR Art experience which emphasise open-ended creativity and allows one to express oneself through sound and visuals in VR. Heading towards distributing it to VR festivals and events. Planning and fundraising for the next phase of Skeleton project’s development and creating an interactive Skeleton Live performance.”

  1. Why did you decide to join Helsinki XR Center’s XR developer hub?

“For synergy and comradeship with other people working in the XR industry. Also to get and share support and knowledge about XR design and tech and to forward with creative ideas.”


  1. When did you join the XR Hub, and how long had your team existed before joining?

“Creative director joined in the spring of 2019 and the team has been building up throughout the journey.”


  1. As a part of the XR Hub, how has your experience been so far?

“Nice vibe and great supporting atmosphere in the XR Center with all the faculty and teams. Events and networking has also been great. XR Match Up in November 2019 was a great international event and success.”


  1. What is the most interesting or exciting thing about ‘extended reality’?

“Especially movement based spatial computing that enables to create exiting interactive work. The intra-action with the computed entity allows active learning through embodied cognition and cultivates kinaesthetic awareness.”
